Scar Tissue is the gripping memoir of Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The book chronicles Kiedis's struggles with addiction, his relationships with his bandmates and family, and the highs and lows of his life as a musician.

Kiedis was born in Michigan in 1962. His parents divorced when he was young, and he was raised by his mother in a bohemian household in Los Angeles. Kiedis began experimenting with drugs at a young age, and he quickly developed a heroin addiction. He dropped out of high school and spent several years living on the streets, struggling to overcome his addiction.

In 1983, Kiedis met Flea, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Irons, and they formed the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The band quickly gained a following for their energetic live shows and their unique blend of funk, punk, and rock music. However, Kiedis's drug addiction continued to plague him, and he was kicked out of the band in 1988.

After spending several years in rehab, Kiedis rejoined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1990. The band went on to become one of the most successful and influential rock bands of all time. Kiedis has remained sober since 1992, and he has dedicated his life to helping others overcome addiction.

Scar Tissue is a raw and honest account of Kiedis's life. He writes about his struggles with addiction, his relationships with his bandmates and family, and the highs and lows of his life as a musician. Scar Tissue is a must-read for fans of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and anyone interested in the story of a man who overcame adversity to achieve his dreams.
